The Cost Of Being Gluten-Free

The Cost Of Being Gluten-Free

New research carried out by VoucherCodesPro has discovered that people following a gluten-free diet could be spending up to £2,000 extra a year.

The study found out that the majority of gluten-free followers they surveyed, alongside other dietary requirements such as vegan or halal, felt they had to pay more that usual for gluten-free food with less options available to them. Respondents also revealed that there is a lack of understanding from friends and family about their gluten-free needs.

Demand for gluten-free food is growing at a rapid pace, so we wonder why food manufacturers have not yet developed cheaper alternatives. Being gluten-free can be costly, but when your health is at stake there can be no other choice than to purchase expensive gluten substitutes.
